Two Leading Harrogate Brands Join Forces In Historic Move

Fodder, the multi-award-winning farm shop and café based on the Great Yorkshire Showground, has become the flagship stockist for Ramus Luxury Seafood after a new collaboration between two of Harrogate’s leading food brands.
From this week, Fodder will offer an outstanding selection of Ramus fresh, smoked and frozen Luxury Seafood products, and online orders can be taken for its stunning seafood platter.
Alistair Ramus, owner of the family business, which was founded in 1974, said: “This is the start of a long and fruitful partnership between two great Harrogate brands.
“We are passionate about supplying our premium products in a great retail environment where our customers can do their full weekly shop in one easy visit. Fodder and Ramus have shared values based on supplying high quality, ethically sourced, local products at a competitive price.  We look forward to an exciting partnership ahead.”

Over 46 years, Ramus has built up a trusted reputation for fabulous quality and great value; during that time, it has won the coveted Independent Seafood Retailer of the Year for excellence in fishmongery as well as being named Seafood Retailer of the Year in 2017. Ramus is a member of the Sustainable Seafood Coalition. Ramus is soon to move out of its Kings Road store and supply Fodder directly from its state-of-the-art operation in Grimsby, the ‘fish capital of England’. The move will match a change in retail trends as more and more customers buy online or seek to do their full weekly shop under one roof.
Fodder is part of a family of businesses on the Great Yorkshire Showground which plough all their profits back into Yorkshire Agricultural Society to support and promote farming, food and the countryside. This includes Pavilions of Harrogate, Yorkshire Event Centre and Harrogate Caravan Park. The money then helps organise the charity’s events including Great Yorkshire Show, Countryside Live and Springtime Live as well as Countryside Days for 6,000 primary schools. There’s also farmer health checks, support and networking groups for the farming community as well as encouraging the development of those working in the industry.
